Attitude is the #1 key to success

Attitude is everything is a common phrase. Attitude is defined as ones feelings or mood toward things, circumstances or people. Your attitude is your reaction to what life hands you. Your attitude is under your control and can be changed. Your attitude is crucial to your overall success and is reflected by the words you use and your facial expressions, pace, tone, inflection, behavior and dress sense. Mental attitude is more important than mental capacity. You must realize that your attitude is your choice and that you alone can decide how to deal with events in your life.

Attitudes are composed from various forms of judgments. Attitudes develop on the ABC model i.e. affect, behavioral change and cognition. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. Attitude, whether positive or negative, shows in our daily lives. Attitude is everything; it impacts everything you do. Attitude determines whether you are on the way or in the way.

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. Positive and negative thinking are both contagious. You can unleash the power of your subconscious mind through positive thoughts. Having a positive attitude brings so many benefits into our lives. Our positive attitude will be valued and appreciated by those around us. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively.

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.

Many people say attitude is more important than experience or education. A positive attitude is a vital asset at any time. Your attitude is a powerful tool that enables you to be optimistic, resilient and creative. When the attitude is positive we entertain pleasant feelings and constructive images, and see in our mind's eye what we really want to happen. It is important to remember attitude is everything. Your Attitude determines your altitude.

You Are What Your Do!

However, when we make choice we must possess something so as to empower us to make the right decision. That is "self-empowerment" or the ability to give power or strength to one's own self. It is mostly needed in times when people want to live their life with an implication of reason and conscientiousness.

For this reason, we can clearly say that what people do with their lives, they should always be accountable to whatever consequences that will happen. It defines man's basic meaning in life; therefore, it only goes to show that man cannot always get away with something that he or she has done.

Basically, God created man above all things with intellect and will so that he will know how to make the most put of his life. God gave him conscience to tell him if what he has done was right or wrong. That is why there is always the saying, 'You are what you do!" This because you know what is right from wrong, therefore, whatever it is that you do would always be accounted on you.

For example, a person cannot deny that he is an alcoholic if he doesn't drink liquor. If we don't lie, then we must not cheat. If we just hang around, then, that means we don't have a purpose or goal in life. If we claim we are righteous, then, we should never do what is wrong. In this manner, it is assumed that even if we deny about something, our actions will always show and reflect the kind of person we are.

So, where does "self-empowerment" sinks in? How can people say they our self-empowered when they do not know what it is or how it is acquired?

If you are conscious of what your purpose in life is; if you know why you are here on earth; if you know what to do with what life has to offer; then, even if you are not yet determined to do something about it, you are in a continuous struggle between sharpening your consciousness and fortifying your level of "self-empowerment."

The phrase, "You are what you do," deals more of our attitude towards life, how we deal with problems, and how we face the consequences of our actions.

Take for example the situation where in people are devastated by calamities. At certain point, there are people who would go out of their way helping everyone to the best of their abilities. If they don't have the means to do so, they would seek help from those who can. That is a positive attitude of helping people. Because they chose to help, the things they have done showed how they sympathize with the victims and expressed their empathy.

On the other hand, there are those who do not care at all. Even if they contend they do, the fact that they have not done anything to alleviate the victims from their present situations is already an enough manifestation of who they are in life. If they chose to be passive and apathetic with the people around them, then, it means that they don't care. I believe that they don't even care if that happens to their family.

Then again, some people may ask, for those who were able to help other people, was it only possible because they have something to offer? What if they don't have the means to help other people, would they do the same?

The answer is yes, if they have the confidence and the willingness to help even if they too need help. That is the power of "self-empowerment."

These entire things boil down to the point that people should realize that whatever they do reflects the kind of person they are. So, in order to realize all these things and be sensitive to whatever actions you do, make it a habit to always reflect each hour on things that you have just done. Contemplate on it, whether it had been good or bad.

The bottom line is that, it would be better if we stop complaining and blaming each other of who's who. What we must do is to mull over on some things before we do them. As the old saying goes, "If you don't have anything good to say, don't talk." It's that simple.

The Ability To Believe

When a person has complete faith in their own abilities, it is amazing to see. This article will deal with that type of belief. When Terry Fox, the young man from British Columbia with only one leg, ran across Canada raising money for the Cancer Society, he had that kind of belief in himself. When Rick Hanson, restricted to a wheelchair, wheeled around the world doing his part to raise funds for spinal cord research, he had that kind of belief in himself. They both had no doubts in their abilities to do what they wanted to do.

The ability to believe in yourself creates a power to achieve what might ordinarily seem impossible. Having a strong belief in your abilities can have astonishing results. Within each of us resides the ability to do amazing feats, released by a desire to accomplish what is meaningful to us. When your self-confidence in your abilities is strong, it motivates our subconscious to spur our belief. Studies have shown that when we truly believe we can accomplish something, we do. To quote Mary Kay Ash, "If you believe you can, you will and if you believe you can't, you are right."

As your belief in yourself increases, you'll find that what you thought was only a dream becomes reality. There are ways to increase your self-confidence so that it will stir your belief. Always be positive about yourself. Mentor yourself, encouraging yourself to strive for better results. Set reasonable goals - as you reach them, it reinforces your confidence, so you can set your next goal higher. Be positive with yourself always. If you come up against disappointment, remain positive, and problem-solve with yourself to find another way for you to reach your goal. Being creative and positive will help build your self-confidence. As your self-confidence grows, you'll find your belief in abilities will grow as well. The ability to believe in yourself will make you a success in whatever you try to do. Once your belief in yourself has deepset roots, you'll find all sorts of things start happening for you.

In a school in the United States, a school conducted an experiment to show just how powerful belief can be.

A big class of students was divided into two small classes, according to their abilities. The average and above average students were in one group, and the students who were not performing as well into another group. The average and above average group continued their studies as usual. The remaining group was told by their teacher that they had been separated from the rest of the class because they were the smartest students, and were going to be tackling special assignments to prove how intelligent they were. They were sworn to secrecy, to keep the other students from feeling left out. Then they got the exact same assignments as the other group.

All year, the teacher of the second group praised the students, telling them how smart they were. By the end of the year, these former poor students were doing better than all the students in the other group. This experiment has been done several times all over the country, and always turned out with the same results. If people are told they are intelligent, good and can do terrific work, this reinforcement helps them believe in themselves, and they start improving. They reach a high level of ability because they believe they can achieve it.

You can do the same thing for yourself. Praise yourself over and over again. If you succeed at something, give yourself credit for it. Tell yourself repeatedly how intelligent and capable you are. Your subconscious mind will believe it if it hears the praise often enough. It works the other way too - if you constantly criticize yourself or speak negatively to yourself, your subconscious mind will believe that. This is why it is so important to always talk positively to yourself.

Remember the story of the Little Engine that Could. It is a known fact that someone with a negative outlook and attitude thinks "I can't do that", while someone with a positive outlook and attitude thinks "I know I can do that." Believing in the positive can overcome any adversity. All through history you can find stories of people who overcame substantial odds using the ability of believing in themselves.

If you are leading a group or company, think what a powerful tool belief can be. Praise your staff - let them know their work is very important and that others will benefit. You'll see the productivity increase to an amazing extent. Individuals will frequently work harder and take less for themselves if they believe that they are working for a goal that is linked to a belief they hold deep inside.

If you think there is a possibility of succeeding at what you are attempting, you'll find you use all the abilities you possess to achieve your ends. It is normal human nature. If we're doing something we don't believe in, most of us are not happy. In his book, "Authentic Happiness," psychologist Marty Seligman says that people are most fulfilled when using their personal strengths to overcome obstacles, if they believe that what they're doing makes a difference.

Values are based on beliefs; our choices are made and our goals are set so we can act according to our beliefs. It makes sense, then, that before we can make any major changes in our life, we need to believe that this change is possible. It makes no difference if the goal is to be a success in our occupation, or we want to be a better golfer, we will succeed more frequently and will work harder for that success if we believe we can do it.

In his book, "Think and Grow Rich," Napoleon Hill made this point very well when he stated, "Whatever a man can conceive and believe, he can achieve."

Don't Underestimate The Power Of Positive Thinking

I'm sure you have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can't wait to test out. Of course you're not the only one with the bright idea. So what motivates you to churn those creative, or even inspiring juices to its utmost flavor?

It's always best to set up a personal goal where you can accomplish the most in record time, maybe like mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

Here are some tips to make it through the week even if you're just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting.

Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous.

1. Take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. Without it, passion is void.

This is a perfect example where dreams are made of where you start by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. And if the idea weakens, you can always go back to it later until you finish it.

2. Commit to yourself as well as those you love to create powerfully a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins.

3. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme, why not give it a shot and see if it will work. You will be surprised to see of there are other ways to get the task done in time. If you are not pleased with the outcome, decide to use that moment to learn from and make the appropriate shift.

4. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty consciousness.

5. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize/Reevaluate/Restore in place of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The former is based in increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. As you face people or tasks that may seem harder than scaling the summit of the Himalayas, allow yourself to realize that the task is just as important as giving out orders to your subordinates. You would rather be richly passionate!

6. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself when possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I am yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as 'old as great-grandma'. Life has so much to offer to allow you to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.

7. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. No one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Create your life authentically. As long as there's still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. The concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your work, which would lead to celebrate a discovery that is born within your hands. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.

It's interesting how people get wallowed up by something trivial as learning to use a computer, when nowadays that top computer companies are manufacturing software that even the kids can do it. I don't mean to be condescending, but that's the idea of not having any positive thinking in your life-you'll just end up as a dim bulb in a dark corner. So instead of subjecting yourself to what you will be doomed for, make your path by taking the first step with a positive attitude.
